I would recommend [The Best We Could Do] to my SELA neighbors, more specifically the children of immigrants & refugees. This book was in the comic book style, which was my first time ever reading a comic book in this genre of literature. It explores a lot of what it means to be an immigrant, its implications on who you become, and how being an immigrant influences the realtionship your parents have with you and the way they raised you. It is essentially a love letter to immigrant parents, and seeing them beyond all the pain and trauma that holds them.

A mis vecinos de SELA, recomendaría The Best We Could Do, sobre todo a los niños de inmigrantes y refugiados. El libro fue escrito en forma de un cómic y fue la primera vez que leí un cómic en este género literario. Aborda plenamente diversos temas de inmigración, las implicaciones en la formación personal, relaciones entre padres e hijos inmigrantes y las formas diferentes de crianza. Básicamente, es una carta de amor a los padres inmigrantes que nos permite ver más allá de todo el dolor y trauma que los sostiene.
